ILVA GLASS FLOAT GLASS

Float glass includes a family of soda-lime-based vitreous material, made according to the floating process, which guarantees perfect flatness and homogeneity of thickness of the glass obtained.

This glass, once subjected to manufacturing processes, printing processes, and tempering heat treatments, represents the ideal material for making various types of components in the household appliance sector.

Starting from thicknesses of 4 mm, up to 8 mm, are available the following materials:

  • standard float
  • extra clear float
  • colorful float
  • mirrored float

The extra clear float glass is a very transparent glass that is used in the household appliance sector whenever it is necessary to obtain a component with a light color (white, beige, champagne glass, etc.).

Colored float glass is a glass whose base color is altered with specific oxides, obtaining colors typical of the household appliance sector such as gray or black, while maintaining transparency to light. Characterized by a particular aesthetic impact, these components are typically used for external oven doors and control panels.

The mirrored float glass is the classic stopsol glass, which can also be made in various colors of the mirror coating. The emphasis of the reflection is obtained by screen printing, and the typical use of this component is aesthetic for oven doors and control panels. Also used for glass surfaces for gas cooktops.

THE PROCESS:

All these types of float glass are processed using the standard glass operations, such as:

  • automatic cut
  • CNC grinding
  • double edges grinding
  • water jet cut
  • drill drilling
  • silkscreen printing
  • thermal hardening
